Dear colleagues,
 

Most of the preparations for the International Conference “CONTEMPORARY ASPECTS OF
ASTRONOMY, THEORETICAL AND GRAVITATIONAL PHYSICS” dedicated to the
Bulgarian Professor of Theoretical Physics seems to be behind us. We have collected altogether
more than 30 talks and several posters. They are listed in the tentative program which is attached below.
Please let us know about possible omissions.

All sessions of the conference, except the plenary one, will take place in the hall of the Guest House
of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences which is at:

We received more reports than we expected. That is why we had to diminish

the report time to 20 minutes INCLUDING discussions. We apologize to all

participants for this inconvenience. We will provide overhead projectors.

We are happy to announce that the Rector of Sofia University decided to

held a special plenary session commemorating Professor Georgi Manev
as former Rector of Sofia University. This session will be held on May 20, at 13.30 pm.

Speeches are expected on behalf of the Rector and the President of the Bulgarian

Academy of sciences. Also four plenary talks 30 minutes each are expected;

see the tentative programme.
 

Please inform us about the details of your arrival so that we could meet you at

the airport or railway station. This is especially important for those of you that

arrive late in the evening or early in the morning.

The registration of the conference will take place on May 20 at 8.30 AM

A brief opening of the conference will take place at 8.55 and the first session

will start at 9.00.
 
 

CALL FOR ABSTRACS: We intend to print a booklet with the abstracts of the conference which
is to be distributed among the participants upon registration.

On May 22 in the afternoon we will organize an excursion to Boyana church which

is at the outskirts of Sofia.
